Introduction
I'm a welder by trade but employed for the last 15-20 years doing I.T. work. I'm presently a network admin / help desk support staff member at my current employer. I did a stint in the U.S. Navy back in the mid 1980's - stationed aboard the now retired and turned into a museum - USS Midway CV-41 aircraft carrier. We were forward deployed with the 7th fleet and stationed in Yokosuka, Japan. I went into the Navy to pursue machine and engineering trades (I learned to weld while in high school) but wound up working in the photo lab as a US Navy Photographers Mate. I loved living in Japan and I really enjoyed working in the photo lab... I would love to go back to Japan someday.
I'm presently living in south central upstate N.Y. in a small town called Berkshire. It is (more or less) between Ithaca, Owego and Cortland. I work in Vernon, NY. I shoot a lot of the local school and youth sports programs, as well as other sports that I enjoy that are not affiliated with the school programs.
Bragging rights
Self taught in most things that I do or have pursued (photography, computers, cycling, etc... ) and somewhat accomplished at them. I've been published a couple of times now in some regional magazines (photo's purchased and used). Sales from my photography have allowed me to upgrade some of my gear over the last year or two - thats a plus. :)
